Bruno Mars first hinted that the 90s Slow Jams sound was coming back, last year, with the release of his 90s-esque panty-dropper, “Versace on the Floor.” Others soon followed, like Ella Mai with “Boo’d Up.” Much of Gen Z were now being exposed to the sounds of the Slow Jams they were conceived by.
And in 2019, when Cardi B does a collabo with Bruno–one that sounds like a remake straight out of a Guy album–it’s safe to say that the 90s are back and here to stay, at least for a little while.
Enjoy the latest incarnation of the 90s here, a sexy, adult-themed, bump-n-grind anthem called “Please Me,“ from two of today’s hottest pop stars. CAUTION: Language.
