About R Dub!:
Host and creator of Sunday Night Slow Jams, R Dub! first met Art Laboe in 1996, when R Dub! was just 19 years old and a radio personality at Art’s station in Tucson, Arizona. Over the decades the two would develop a friendship on and off the radio. After Tucson, R Dub! became Program Director of Hot 92.3FM in Los Angeles, where he reunited with Art. In 2011, R Dub! and Art joined forces once again in San Diego, where R Dub! was named Program Director for Magic 92.5FM and Z90.3FM. The two worked together on concerts and radio promotions, up until Art’s passing in 2022.

R Dub! said, “Art has always been an inspiration to so many other radio personalities. I modeled my show after his in many ways and I thank him for the inspiration and encouragement over the years. We rarely looked at each other as competitors – just a couple of guys who loved our listeners and loved connecting people through the magic of radio and a special dedication. I will do my best to keep Art’s memory and essence living on through my Sunday night broadcasts. I aspire to make him proud.”

In 2019 R Dub! presented Art Laboe with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
