Going to middle school in Central Florida, some of the fondest memories I have as a boy, were the days my Dad would take me to Daytona Beach. He’d take me on his work sales calls across the state, for the first half of the day…and somehow we’d always end up at the beach…Daytona Beach. Back then, you could park on the sand. 
We’d spend hours at the boardwalk and in the arcades. This was just as good as Disneyland–just me and Pop, at the beach.
