El Paso, TX: 104.3 HITfm Sundays 5PM-9PM

“I screamed,” said Ortega. “My friends and I have been listening to Sunday Night Slow Jams every week since we were little, but we always had to stream it from another radio station, since we couldn’t find a station here in El Paso to hear it on. Now that it’s on 104.3, we’re so excited. We won’t be listening to any other radio station now except 104.3.”

El Paso, Texas: After nearly 17 years of El Paso Slow Jams fans coming up dry for their search for the show every Sunday night, America’s number one weekend program is finally available in The Sun City. Radio listeners, the search is over: tune into 104.3 HITfm, your new home for Sunday Night Slow Jams with R Dub! beginning Sunday, February 17th.

The news broke Friday, as Benztown Radio Networks and President of Grupo Radio Centro, Francisco Aguirre, put pen to paper and sealed the deal. El Paso, Texas finally has Sunday Night Slow Jams.

HITfm Operations Manager and morning man Dario Rodriguez said, “I’ve been a fan of Sunday Night Slow Jams for years and the new pop version is absolutely perfect for HITfm!”

R Dub!, creator and host of Sunday Night Slow Jams said, “What amazing news! West Texas is one of our best regions for the show and we’ve been on in every single market in West Texas for well over a decade. What a travesty it was that the good people of El Paso had to miss out on Sunday Night Slow Jams this long, but no more! Now, we celebrate!”

R Dub!’s points are valid. West Texas was actually one of the first regions to reap the ratings rewards of Sunday Night Slow Jams, as stations in the area began to lock down the show soon after it was available for syndication, back in the early 2000s. In fact, every market in West Texas has been consistently rated number one on Sundays and most cities in the region run R Dub!’s Slow Jams five nights a week.

“As soon as I got the news, I texted all my friends and did a post on Instagram,” said Lizette Ortega, 24, of El Paso. Lizette subscribes to the Sunday Night Slow Jams weekly newsletter and was one of the first to receive the news. >> subscribe here <<<

Mark Wilson, Vice President of Affiliate Relations for R Dub!’s Fusion Radio Networks (a Benztown partner company), said, “Texas is probably America’s biggest state for Slow Jams with R Dub. Just look at the numbers and engagement from any of our almost 20 happy Texas affiliates, from San Antonio to Austin and everywhere in between. Slow Jams simply dominates. We’re happy to forge a long-term partnership with Francisco Aguirre and the team at HITfm.”

Sunday Night Slow Jams debuts on 104.3 HITfm Sunday night, February 17th, airing from 5PM to 9PM.
